The Safdar-Janam Talks on Culture and Politics
This year, to observe 20 years of Safdar's death, as well as 35 years of our work, Janam is organising a series of talks, one every month, each focusing on the complex and critical interconnections between culture and politics. The talks are followed by a discussion. The fifth of these is:
"M.F. Husain's Bioscope"
An illustrated talk by Ram Rahman
30 May 2009
6.00 p.m.
Muktadhara Art Gallery
Banga Sanskriti Bhavan
18-19 Bhai Veer Singh Marg
Near Gol Market
RAM RAHMAN is a photojournalist, artist, curator, designer and activist, and his profusely illustrated talk will dwell on what makes Husain Husain, and why his work matters. Ram has shown his photographs in individual and group shows in India and around the world. He is one of the founding members of SAHMAT.
Please note that this talk is NOT being held at the Janam rehearsal space, where all the previous talks in this series have been held.
