Now
open! This is to announce the Neighbourhood Museum of the local history
of Shadi Khampur, at Studio Safdar. All
those in Delhi -- and those travelling here during the next 3 weeks --
do visit the museum. The museum will be open till 21 Jan, daily, 12 noon
to 7 pm (except 1 Jan, when we are closed).
There
are also events that explore the many histories of Delhi. The first of
these is an illustrated talk entitled 'Water Ways' by Sohail Hashmi, on
Friday 4th Jan, 6.00 p.m. Looking at the Seven Cities of Delhi, how they
met their requirements of water, the contribution made by the drainage
system of the Jamuna and other traditional
sources of water in meeting these requirements. Lessons we can draw for
the present. The talk is the first in a series of events that
accompanies the Neighbourhood Museum, Shadi Khampur, set up in Studio
Safdar, which remains open till 21st Jan, 12 noon to 7 p.m. daily
(except on 1st Jan).
Sohail Hashmi studied Geography, worked with the CPI (M), made documentaries, conducts heritage walks, writes, travels, cooks -- and talks about all of these.
